I’ve been coming here for a while now and I’m always more than happy. Idk if it was because it was a Friday and everyone just wanted to get home, but I’ve never been sadder leaving a hairdresser. I had finally grown my hair out long enough for layers, and really wanted to keep my length but basically left with a bob. When will hairdressers start being honest and say that they don’t know how to do specific styles, instead of chopping off peoples hair, that they’ve grown out for years. What started as medium length somehow ended up a in barely there layered bob, I’m so heartbroken and paid so much for this. Hairdressers need to do better. Fake understanding and even though I had communicated properly, I was still highly disappointed. Idk what to do with my hair moving forward, and will never go back there again. Update: I just want to say a huge thank you to Julia for calling me back after my bad review and giving me the opportunity to have everything put right. I went to Rashieda, who is an absolute MIRACLE WORKER! ✨ I’m so relieved and genuinely couldn’t be happier with the result. I finally look and feel presentable again! Thank you so much to Julia, Rashieda, and the whole team for going the extra mile to make things right. Your kindness and professionalism mean so much. You’ve officially restored my faith in hairdressers! 🥰

Charlize is thee best

I've been searching for the perfect salon that understands my low porosity 4C hair type, and I'm thrilled to say I finally found it! My experience with Mizani relaxing and treatment services has been absolutely fantastic and totally worth the investment. The team has done an amazing job revitalizing my hair from its previously unhealthy condition to a much healthier state. What really stands out is the warm and welcoming atmosphere—every single person on staff is genuinely lovely and makes you feel right at home.

Unfortunately, not a pleasant experience. The wash and conditioning process was extremely rough. The stylist was digging into my scalp with so much force that my scalp was still sore the following day. A shampoo should be relaxing, not painful. I clearly asked for a blow-dry with lots of volume. The stylist acknowledged my request, but instead gave me a very sleek, flat look. I didn't say anything during the process because I wasn't sure if she was still working towards the final result. The one star is only because the final result looked fine but it was not what I had asked for. She also used an excessive amount of heat throughout the blow-dry and iron. At one point, the hairdryer burnt my left ear. I left feeling concerned about how much unnecessary heat had been used on my hair. I was also encouraged to add a five-minute hair treatment that would have cost almost R200 extra. I declined because it wasn't something I had booked or felt I needed. I can't prove it, but I left feeling as though the service became less careful after I refused the upsell. The receptionist was unfriendly from the moment I arrived until I left. There wasn't a single smile, and she insisted on charging me an extra R5 despite the lower price I had been quoted when making the booking. My biggest mistake was not reading the reviews beforehand as I see that several other customers had described very similar experiences.
